About the awards
Since 1997, awards in recognition of female obstetricians and gynaecologists have been presented at the FIGO World Congress to honour the incredible work of women in our member societies who have advanced the health of women and girls around the world throughout their careers.
FIGO Women’s Awards 2025
We are proud to announce that these awards will return this year and will be presented at the FIGO 2025 World Congress to women who have made a special contribution nationally or internationally to promote the development of science and scientific research in the fields of gynaecology and obstetrics.
Nomination process
Nominations open on Monday 24 March 2025 and close at 23.59 UTC on Wednesday 14 May 2025.
In order to be considered, you must complete the online nomination form with:
- a list of the nominee's university and/or professional qualifications
- a list of the nominee's publications since 2000
- the reason for nomination (word count: 500)
- a brief biography of the nominee (word count: 500).
Eligibility criteria
- All nominations must be made through, and with the support of, a FIGO member society.
- Only one candidate may be nominated by each society.
- Past recipients of the FIGO Awards are not eligible for nomination.
- All completed forms must be submitted by the closing date of 23.59 UTC on Wednesday 14 May 2025.
We invite nominations from all member societies and particularly encourage nominations from societies in low- and middle-income countries.
