We are looking forward to welcoming more than 7,000 delegates from all over the world to The XXIV FIGO World Congress of Gynecology and Obstetrics, opening tomorrow in Paris, France.

From Monday 9 October to Thursday 12 October, our first in-person FIGO World Congress since 2018 will offer plenty of opportunities for face-to-face learning and networking, creating the perfect environment to learn, share, build alliances, and shape a better future for women, girls and newborns worldwide.

FIGO's mission is to make a difference for women around the world, The congress is a high point in our commitment to promote their physical, mental, reproductive and sexual health, wellbeing and rights, leveraging science and collaborations with NGOs and decision makers.

- Dr Jeanne Conry, FIGO President.

This year’s inspired scientific programme features more than 500 global leading experts who will cover the latest scientific updates, healthcare innovations and key challenges for women’s and girls’ health and rights. Topics will include:

  • Maternal and newborn health, with special attention to respectful care in pregnancy and delivery, preterm birth and reducing mortality and morbidity
  • Sexual and reproductive health and wellbeing including contraception, access to safe abortion and  assisted reproductive technology (ART)
  • Surgery and oncology with a focus on women’s cancer prevention and elimination, fistula repairs and pelvic floor disorders.
  • Gynaecology across the lifespan covering topics from menopause to endometriosis and paediatric and adolescent gynaecology.
  • Global women’s health care and policy, exploring issues such as transgender care, rights of migrants and refugees, and the impact of climate change on women’s health.

The congress will also provide an opportunity to participate in hands-on simulation labs, educational workshops, and the first-ever FIGO film festival which will showcase short films on topics ranging from surgical procedures to advocacy documentaries.

The rich scientific programme of the congress covers all the fields of expertise of gynaecologists and obstetricians, midwives, nurses, as well as other specialities related to women's health. But it goes beyond those medical topics to explore and address our most pressing social issues such as health equity, the evolution of technologies, climate change or violence against women.
